These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Parliamentary Briefing service at parliamentarybriefing.com and any related applications (the "Service"), provided by [PROVIDER — company name], a company registered in England and Wales (company no. [COMPANY NO.]), registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS] ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at support@parliamentarybriefing.com.

By ticking the box to agree to these Terms when you register, or by accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not register for or use the Service.

1. Who may use the Service

The Service is currently offered to charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. We may extend eligibility to other jurisdictions in future.
You must be at least 18 years old.
You must be authorised to act on behalf of the charity you register, and you agree that you use the Service for that charity's legitimate purposes. Where you register on behalf of an organisation, you accept these Terms both personally and for that organisation, and you confirm you have authority to bind it.
Registrations are verified against the Charity Commission register. We may decline, suspend, or withdraw access at our discretion, including where we cannot verify eligibility.

2. Your account

We use email "magic link" sign-in — there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity under your account.
Do not share your account or sign-in links with others. Tell us promptly at support@parliamentarybriefing.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authority.
One account is intended per individual. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.

3. The Service and beta status

The Service produces personalised written briefings about members of Parliament and other parliamentarians — drawing on public information such as the parliamentary record and media coverage — to help you prepare for meetings and engagement.
The Service is currently provided as a private beta. It is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change, and we may add, modify, suspend, or withdraw all or part of the Service at any time.

4. AI-generated content — important

Briefings are generated automatically using artificial intelligence from public data sources. They may contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information, and may misinterpret sources. Briefings are provided for general information only and are not professional, legal, financial, political, or other advice. Do not rely on a briefing without independently verifying it against the cited sources. Any decisions you take based on the Service are your own responsibility.

We do not warrant that briefings are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Citations are provided so you can check the underlying sources, and you agree to do so before relying on any statement.

5. Credits

Access to briefings is metered in credits. New accounts receive a number of free credits, and you may earn additional credits (for example, through referrals). Each briefing you generate uses one credit.
Credits have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and are not exchangeable for cash. Free and referral credits are provided at our discretion and we may vary, withdraw, or expire them, including to prevent misuse.
Paid credit purchases are not currently offered. If and when they are, they will be subject to additional terms (including pricing, payment, and refund terms) presented at the time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

use the Service unlawfully, or in breach of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights;
upload or submit any material that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to provide, or that contains special-category personal data or confidential third-party information you are not entitled to share;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems, probe or test its security, or interfere with its operation;
scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service by automated means, or reverse engineer or copy the Service;
resell, sublicense, or make the Service or briefings available to third parties outside your charity, or use it to build a competing product;
use the Service in a way that places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on it.

7. Content you provide

You may provide materials such as your organisation's context, strategy, or priorities ("Your Content"). You retain ownership of Your Content.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, and use Your Content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service and generating briefings for you. This includes transmitting relevant parts of Your Content to our AI and infrastructure providers (see the Privacy Policy) to produce output.
You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to provide it and that doing so does not breach any law or obligation, and you must not upload personal data about others unless you have a lawful basis and the right to share it with us.

8. Our intellectual property and your licence to briefings

The Service, its software, design, and the presentation of briefings are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, or distribute them.
We grant you a licence to use the briefings we generate for you for your charity's own internal purposes (including preparing for and conducting engagement). You may not republish, sell, or distribute briefings outside your charity except as needed for those internal purposes.
Underlying public data remains subject to the rights and licences of its sources (see clause 9).

9. Third-party data and sources

The Service draws on data from third parties, including the UK Parliament (for example Hansard and parliamentary APIs, much of which is available under the Open Parliament Licence), the Charity Commission, official statistics providers, and media sources. That data is subject to those third parties' terms and licences. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data, and third-party services may change without notice.

10. Privacy and data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your use of the Service. Where you provide personal data about other people (for example within Your Content), you are responsible for complying with data protection law in respect of that data, including having a lawful basis to share it with us.

We monitor and analyse how the Service is used — using our own first-party analytics, with no third-party trackers — to operate, secure, and improve it, as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may carry out maintenance, and availability may be affected by matters outside our control.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably consider it necessary to protect the Service or other users.
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to close your account by contacting support@parliamentarybriefing.com.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends and any remaining credits lapse. Clauses that by their nature should survive (including clauses 4, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 17) will continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content (including briefings) are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, goodwill, or data, arising out of or in connection with the Service. In particular, we are not liable for decisions taken, or actions or omissions, in reliance on a briefing.
Subject to the first bullet, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) £100.
The Service is provided to charities for their organisational purposes and not as a consumer; you use it in the course of your organisation's activities.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against reasonable losses, damages, and costs we incur arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or Your Content infringing the rights of, or causing harm to, any third party.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example by email or on the Service) and, where appropriate, ask you to agree to the updated Terms. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue in effect.
Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale.
A person who is not a party to these Terms has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
